Thing # 11 Librarything

I love books!, all kinds, most of the books I read are children and Technology books, maybe because I'm a teacher, but I have my all times favorites.
I see people using library thing for personal purposes and not for work, but getting reviews from books its great, I see librarians finding a good use for this site.
I listed some books, and the groups from classic books are the ones I'm interested in.

Thing # 10 Image Generator

A lot of fun I had playing with Comic Strip Generator and Image Chef
Both are wonderful, and can be used to make class or library posters, images can also be used to make flipcharts.

Thing # 9 News Feeds

I just started to like this new for me Blogging thing!, there is plenty of different kinds of blogs, I didnt know that were so many on politics.
Of course Google search the best and easier for me, like Technorati, I didnt know were to begin with Sindic8.
I really recommend Atomic Learning for any Technology that you want to know about, contact your Librarian for Password.

Thing # 8 RSS Feeds and Readers

What I like the most about RSS Feeds and Readers is that you have the Information at your feet and not all the way around. You can choose what and when to read.

My search for information will be easier, and our library can suscribe to bookstores and magazines in order to be updated with news and new books avaliable.

Teachers could learn from eachother and know whats new on the market to help you become a better teacher.

Thing # 7 Google

Well I usually google at least once a day, the tools that I like the most besides the searching tools (Info or pictures) which I use every day for educational and personal purposes are:

Google Earth I will never forget the first time I see the picture of my parents house in Mexico or mine in Houston, or the time I check the picture of the hotel I was going for vacation and I check on the size of their swimming pool and compare it to other hotels.

Google Docs, the perfect tool for sharing documents, which I had with the Ed tech dept. ( inventories and trainings), a Grant application with my teammates and I believe you can also share your lesson plans or make them together with a share documents.

Thing # 6

I'm amazed and overwhelmed of all tools, websites, toys, and utilities you can use for your students benefit.
Ofcourse they probalby know more than we do.
And about using these tools on your school and library, maybe you could make book trading cards including a summary to share with other students to make them interested in reading just to mention one thing.

Thing # 5 Flickr

Wow! I didn't know that Yahoo or Google images had any restrictions (Copyrights).
I found very interesting how people are sharing pictures these days.
Every time I do an image search on the internet 90% or more a Flickr picture appear on the search results, which makes that Image Hosting Site one of the best ones.

Here are 2 wonderful pictures, one of a Mockingbird (Birds) and the other of a cloud (Weather), which are 2 of the science units.
